I'm pretty sure I can handle the snow, sand, and mud. It's great to see so many active Jkers here! The trails are one of the only things that I'm looking forward to at this point. I don't know anyone out there and I'm not moving out with a wife and kids. Hope a few of you guys would be up to meet up and have a beer or two.

Thanks for all the info!

I used to work in Simi Valley for about six years. It's a great city. I wouldn't mind living there. Lots to do, but not too busy. Not too far from a lot of nice areas. A variety of businesses, big and small, to find work in (I don't know about in this economy though).

It winds from Chicago, to LA
More than two thousand miles on the way

That would be an awesome trip! Maybe a corvette would be a better ride, but still much fun in a Jeep.

Welcome!

Wait, someone moving to CA that speaks english AND has a job!
Welcome brother! You will LOVE it here! Traffic sucks, but you're probably used to that. The people in Cali are super nice for the most part and the organized Jeeping community here is so big and so diverse that you'll find your niche. We've got everything from drunken redneck inbreds to tea sipping mall crawlers so have fun. It seems like there is a run every weekend somewhere in So Cal so you'll never have a shortage of wheeling buddies.
Welcome.

You'll have a little bit of culture shock but that is about it.

I grew up in Naperville.... the biggest change will be getting used to not having any long sleeve shirts.
