Default New to the area

Well, I done bought me a Rubicon and can't wait to hit some trails out on the west coast. The mud on the east coast gets rather annoying to clean up after. I'm thinking about making a big bear trip Jan 5-7th. I'm pretty sure its all snow covered, but is it still passable?

Welcome! I'm fairly new here myself. Just moved from FL so i know what you mean about mud. If you look on wayalife.com I believe there are a bunch of guys planning a big bear run

Thanks... I'm gonna buy extra high lift and winch accessory kit before I go anywhere. Tax return will be buying a 2.5 max flex RK lift. Doesn't flex to bad now

Welcome to the Forum and congrats on your Rubicon! With 2.5 inches of lift on a 2-door you can handle practically everything in SoCal except the tougher Hammer trails (without risking damage every trip). Hell, I did nearly everything with a 2.5 BB and 33s on my 4-door Rubi. BTW, my near new Toyo MT 33.5s are for sale. Less than 1/2 the price of new... I ran em on the stock wheels and they performed flawlessly.

I might be able to get out that weekend. I can show you a couple of trails that won't be too hard on your Jeeps. Probably White Mtn or Horsethief Flats/Jacoby Cyn.

Let me know...

Welcome to SoCal and congrats on your purchase. You are more than welcome to join the group this weekend on Cleghorn trail. Your Rubi will do this trail just fine. I did it in my JKUR completely stock. Hell it still had paper plates with less than 600 miles on it. This will be a big enough group that you could do this run without the trail gear you want to purchase.
