New to Bakersfield
Hello! I'm new to Bakersfield but not new to JK's
I left a pretty close knit jeep club in Chicago when I moved out here. Curious to see if there were any clubs or trails to check out. I see lots of jeeps everywhere so I know there has to be a community of some kind. Looking forward to making new jeep friends!

Welcome,
There are lots of places and trails to explore nearby. As far as Jeep trails, Miller, Black Gulch, Freeway Ridge, and Borderline are all fairly close. A little further out you have Nightmare Gulch, Last Chance Canyon, and Sherman Pass still under 100 miles from here. Just make sure you dont go alone.
Other things to check out are the Oceano Dunes over on the coast. I wouldnt recommend going there on a holiday weekend though as it gets pretty crowded.
For just cool scenery Red Rock Canyon is about 70 miles out in the desert. If you go North to Porterville area theres the Giant Sequoia grove.
As far as clubs there is Infectious Off Road, 4x4 HIM, and the Bakersfield Trailblazers. They are all on Facebook.

Never wheeled with them but have ran into them a few times while out and about.

So, is Bakersfield considered CenCal just for JK Forum purposes? I see a lot of SoCal decals on cars and wiki (as trustful as that is) says Kern Co.is considered SoCal.

Not trying to argue, just looking for a local's education. I don't wanna have the wrong idea about my new home
