Default Nitro Sleeve Install Tool

For those in San Diego area that have installed Nitro sleeves, did any of you create an install tool for the job that I can borrow? I seen a video online where it looks like they created an install tool out of some square tube and flat stock. I could get something similar created, but I figured I'd ask if anyone had a tool that they already built laying around. I'd pony up a case of beer if you let me borrow it.

I haven't installed any but have spoken to those that have and seen a few videos where a hammer and a 2x4 block has gotten the job done.

I used a chunk of 1/4 diamond plate I had laying around. Had the wife hold it tight while I tapped in the frozen sleeve. I also filled an old sock with oil and put it in front of the sleeve. To lube the tube while it was pushed in. Took about 5-10mins per side.

I'm trying to visualize that... I'm assuming you had the knuckle off then? I wasn't going to do that. I've read tons of horror stories about it taking 6+ hours for this job, and folks mushrooming the sleeve and having to take a grinder to the last inch or less that just won't budge, but I've read plenty of stories where folks had no issues at all either. It sounds like it can be fairly simple with the right prep/tools...

- 20 lb sledge
- bearing race driver
- freeze the sleeves days in advance
- clean and lube the axle tube really well

I'm ready to tackle the job. I just want something to attach to the bearing race driver that will give me a little more of a target to hit with that 20 lb sledge hammer.

I did mine alone in less than 3 hours, you can read my thread on it here:

Anyone ever try submersing the sleeves in LN2 from your local welding shop?
That would really freeze them good. Proper safety precautions must be taken

Dry ice and a drum let it sit in there that'll get em cold....

Unless your using 35 spline rcv axles up front I'd just do weld in ones....super simple.

Did my d30 and my d44 this week before it goes in.

I would use a small bore cylinder hone ( one with the stones not the balls )on the axle end, so you can start the frozen sleave to slide in
