Default Off-roading buddies!

I moved to SoCal about a year ago or so for school. I don’t really know that many people with Jeeps. The few people that I know with wranglers only go mall crawling (Thats the only crawling i do right now haha ). I’m looking for some people to go off-roading with. I don’t really like beating up my car (daily and only driver), so I don’t do crazy trails (black diamond trails).

The only trail that I been is Holy Jim Trail, Trabuco Canyon. If you guys know a off-roading “group” or know any cool places to go off-roading at, around SoCal, let me know!

Thanks,

Luis

Hey Luis

You can always check the SoCal portion of forum for runs that people post. There's always something going on, anywhere from beginner trails to the most advanced.

Welcome Luis,

If you get a chance, go with a group to the Cleghorn trail! It's a fairly close trail to us. Usually a good sized group of friendly people show up. It's much more fun than Holy Jim and a designated OHV trail with lots of options.

If you are looking for people to wheel with just keep an eye on this So Cal section and there will be trips.

There is the TDS event coming up in fact. Fun for any level of jeep and many of us are going.

Look for me around Irvine and let me know if you need anything.

TDS stands for Tierra Del Sol, three days where the TDS club puts on a wheeling event. You can pay the $57 to be part of the raffle, trail runs put on by the club, and receive a cool bumper sticker. The raffle is probably one of the best around. Last year they raffled off over $100k worth of wheeling related prizes, each prize was worth a grand. After the raffle is a great fireworks show right over your head. Also there are vendors and company booths there with swag, deals, and good people.

Last year I went and camped out with the group from this forum. We did our own trails and there was always people willing to go drive around the desert. The area itself isn't that difficult and is just open desert so you can be selective about where you drive. There are spots where you can watch people take on some insane stuff if you feeling like kicking back.

More Info can be found here or from us if you ask:
2013 Desert Safari

I think today is the last day to sign up and pay online, otherwise you can pay on the spot.

apparently if you sign up online you can save 8 dollars, the registration will give you one ticket for the main raffle, and then there is Bucket raffles as well. there is supposed to be like 1100 fireworks after the raffle on saturday night as well. i went last year for the first time, my parents have been going to this event for probably 10 years or so now, this event has been going on for 51 years now, this year is the 51st.
