Well I have been thinking that I want a 4dr and trade in my 2 door. ( I really want the commando green) auto or manual? That is my question for you all. I have a manual now but sometimes think an auto would be nice too. So let me have them opinions. . Thanks guys.

Wanted the manual wheni got my tfour door but wife can't drive stick and refuses to learn. End result is i think I'm happier i got the automatic than would have been with the manual.

Thanks. I'm kind of leaning towards an automatic but still not sure.

I like the controlled throttle and rpm's of my 6 spd, the ability to drive at however high or low rpm's I'd like without it wanting to shift. A lot of the Project JK big wigs seem to prefer auto for crawling as you can be much more gentle at slow speeds etc. Just depends on your needs. Both seem to have pros/cons.

That is the biggest benefit for manuals but my 12 auto has that slap stick to keep her in whatever gear i want her to stay in plus the hill assist. I got to say it works really well. But i also wouldn't have minded the manual. They seem funner to drive sometimes.

A jeep being auto just never felt right to me. There is something about driving a standard jeep with the doors off and top off that is the best feeling in the world.

That's the way I have always felt. I have always said it isn't a true 4x4 if it isn't a manual. But I have electronic locking diff and sway bar disconnects so it changes everything lol I like hearing all the pros and cons.

I have a '12 2dr manual, and although I love it.. I kinda wish it was an auto.. While rock krawling, it can get quite sketchy at times, even with the best control.. An auto would allow me to maintain that control.. And keep my drink in hand. And that's critically important. Especially if its in a red solo cup!(which since my first trail, it hasn't.. Always in a thermos, lol. Colder, larger, and no spills!)

Yea I know the feeling. Mine is a 10 2dr. I love it but the more I use it specially on the harder trails I start thinking how it may be easier to have an auto. And a 4dr for more storage and larger gas tank lol.
