Default Pancake Rock

going out sat to run pancake rock anyone want to join?

Pancake Rock Trail (Carvacre Trail)

Description
This is a moderately difficult trail close to San Diego. Difficulty 2 to 2+. Great trail for a 1/2 day ride. Beautiful view from on top of Pancake Rock.

This trail is located in San Diego's East County about 30mins outside of San Diego City and 1hr from San Diego's North County.

Difficulty (1=easiest, 5=most difficult)
3 - moderate

Equipment:
32" tires, Tow Points front and back

I think you will be fine without rock rails. this trail changes alot and its been 6 or so months since i have ran it, so im sure the ruts have gotton much deeper.

Plan:
Meet at 830 at Janets cafe 2650 jamacha rd el cajon, ca. (a friends restrant good food)

If you just want to meet us there, there is a dirt parking lot on the north side of the freeway and we will be there around 930. we will hit a gas station after eating, there is NO gas station near this trail. If you decide to meet at the dirt lot you'll want to send me a pm with your contact info so we make sure we don't hit the trail head without you.

Misc:
I was told if you go futher down the trail there is a couple of rock gardens. havent seen it for myself, but i am going to talk with some friends and see i can get a exact location.

North County Caravan:
Meet at Pizza Nova at 7:30AM, contact Frank (sm_rubi) to let him know you're coming.

Going:

I now I have been preaching at the suds and grubs about listing other information when trying to get a group together. So I guess I will start doing it on the message board now too. We need to include what kind of terrain and how difficult is the run? What should a jeep have to come along with you (such as stock, locker, tire size)? I know when I was new I had no idea the location or the difficulty of the trails. So I would not go because I was afraid of getting in over my head.

alright this trail is a great trail for newbies, it is a fun trail. there it a total of like 3 rocks including the huge at the end that everyone drives up. the rest of the traill is just washouts. this trail is good for any jeep as long as you have 4-wheel drive and strap attachments. flex is the key to this trail. im going to wait till after suds and grub to post time and meeting spots.
