Default Pancake Rock Closed?

I went out to Pancake Rock today and the gate was locked.
Is is long term?
Just awaiting a grating following the rain?

Do we know why? That sucks. Probably those dam kids that go up there to drink and start bonfires. Last time I was up there there was an older model jeep being driven by an 18 year old looking kid, drunk ass shit. He almost rolled over one of the cliffs, a couple of us had to use our winches and help him out of his jam. Fortunately his girlfriend was sober and was able to follow us down safely. Hopefully it gets opened soon.

Heard it just looks locked but the actual lock is cut so you can just open it.

It was opened not too long ago, 3-4 months. I think it migth have been closed temporarily over rain concerns because of el niño season

Might not be a good idea, hen people cut locks it's bad for the entire offroad community and the tree huggers use evidence of illegal wheeling to shut things down for good. Okay off the soap box now.

yea I agree with frank be careful with that. it makes us look bad when we try to preserve what we got. even though tis open and the lock ic cut I wouldn't trek up there. just adding fuel to the flame for those crazy people.
