Been there in early July, gate was wide open, the trail had several groups of Jeeps, hikers, bikers and was in great shape. It felt as if its generally left open.... it worth a trip and good thing to remember is that Corral canyon is about 15 minutes away in case its closed.

I searched on the web and found some folks that had been there Aug 8th so I'm hopeful the gate is still open. It's great trail that is challenging, no rock sliders and low clearance you may end up with a scratch or two. A stock 4x4 can make it with a bit of scrapping the skid plates and a bit of spinning the tires. All good

Good news the gate is open and it has a Forest Service Trail marker! It was nice to see no trash on the trail and up top Pancake Rock was clean. We need to keep it that way.

The trail itself is not stock friendly... unless you don't mind leaving your factory steps on the trail, otherwise very doable. We went up with a stock JK4dr, JK4dr on 35's, JK4dr on 37's, a stock FJ and a Taco. Most have Rocksliders and skid plates which were put to good use Great place to check articulation capabilities
