Perseid Meteor Shower Run - August 12th

Okay everybody, to make this easier on those of you who can't do a Sunday to Monday run, we have decided to make this into a 2-day camping trip starting on Saturday. Even though the Perseid Meteor shower is set to peek on the night of Sunday the 12th, there should still be some action to be seen on Saturday as well. So, if you have to take off early, you can do some exploring/light-wheein on Sunday morning and then take off that afternoon (or sooner if needed). From Bishop, it's about a 4-5 hours drive to the heart of the LA/OC area.

Don't look like we're gonna be able to make this :sad: Trying to do an early pick-up with the ex is all but impossible and, on top of that, my daughter has tennis practice and my son has football practice on Monday morning.

Nooo! I am not going to know what the heck I'm looking at without JeepCacher. We're gonna spend the whole night going "hey what do you think that star is.... I don't know what do you thing that star is.... I don't know...."

Well i think it would be a nice run .. !!! im up for it... ill keep on checking for more details. 
Hey Everyone, I just wanted to let you all know that we are planning to do another Eastern Sierra Nevada run this August to see the awesome Perseid Meteor Shower that is set to peak on the 12th - 13th. And, because there will be no moon, it will be really amazing to see this year.
Most likely, the run will be an easy one up to Coyote Flats which is located near Bishop, CA and, for obvious reasons, it will be an over-nighter. I will provide more details in the coming weeks but if you think you might be interested, please chime in here so that we can plan things better.
If you've never seen a metor shower before, you won't want to miss this event.
