Default Programmers what to buy?

With resent tier change I need to re-program my speedometer. They are few models out there with prices from $150 to $300 which one should I buy? If I need to use it only one time, is it better to have the dealer re-program it? Does anyone have unlocked programmer to be used with my JK?

I think the aeroforce interceptor allows someone to program other jeeps, but I am not sure. Ask someone near you who has one.

Otherwise if tire size correction for the spedo is all you want then get the cheapest programer. From my understanding dealers only reprogram up to 33" tires.

I too have the Hypertech. Does seem to do really well, but I wish it had the TPMS delete feature. Makes me want to 'trade up' to the Superchips for that reason alone. Awesome unit though...

I couldn't change the tire size using mine to save my life. I'd set the value, click OK, and nada. I called their support number and they walked me through it, and now the speedometer is right.

There's two sets of menus -- one for editing and one for display. The display mode makes it really easy to see what the current settings are, but the confusing thing is, the display mode lets you edit and "OK" the values. But since you're in "readonly" display mode, it ignores your edits. You have to go in a different way to make the edits stick.

I'll be going to SM Hills on Sunday, if you want, bring your controller and I'll show you what I mean.

BTW, I just tossed mine loose in the glove box once when offroading and all the bouncing around put a big scratch into screen, so bad you couldn't read through it. I tried the "pencil eraser trick" and it worked for me. You can tell there's a scratch, but it doesn't affect readability:

I would go with Superchips, it's the only thing that made my Jeep drivable. It also took off the tire pressure warning. I found the best deal at Northridge, plus free shipping. Or hit up the guys that put the RIPP headers on, it looks like the Superchips runs it to lean. If you find one used I think you have to pay like $100 and go online to "Free it up" to program a different Jeep.
