question on wheel size
Here is a question. My wife has tire and wheel envy, which is ok but I need more info before I agree. We have stock rims that we had powder coated black
and year old 30 inch tires she wants bigger tires so do you people know can we fit 33s on our stock rims and would we then need a lift kit. I like the way our jk runs and rides and rock crawling isnt really what we want to do.
But every time we go out she says "see they have bigger tires than us"
I wouldnt mind bigger tires but not if it means giving up ride and the radio

you can put 33's without a lift. The thing to watch for when adding bigger tire is what width do you want. If you get wider tires like 305 you will get rubbing when turning and will need wheel spacers ( which IMO isn't great as it add stress to your axels.) You might want to get the Rubi. 32's, as you can find them slightly used fairly cheap and the difference between 32's and 33's is negligible.
Personally I would advise you to get s small lift, like the OME 2", your ride will actually be better off and on road. then I would either get 33' 255 ( BFG just came out with 33' 255 KM2's which are used for the J8 which is the military JK version) or 285 if you want to get really wide tire.

Awwww, your wife made me smile, I think it's great that she is involved with the Jeep. 33's fit with no lift and since you are not really rock crawling I think you will be fine. When I first got my Jeep it had 33's and the only issue I had was the fenders popping out, but other then that I was really happy with the ride.

Maybe just get a teraflex budget boost which are just pucks that go above your springs. And, add the 33's. But, you're gonna want to go bigger, I promise. You can always get the superchips. My rig drives 100 times better than it did when I was stock.

I've got the OME 2.5 lift and .75 spacers on front (heavy bumper and winch) which gave me actually 3.25 in lift.
I run 35's on the stick rims with spyder trek 1.5 in wheel spacers. I have done some pretty good wheeling and have had 0 issues even aired down to 12 psi.
Check out the look and height HERE, if you want to drive it let me know...
It was all easy to install.
Can you send me a couple pictures of your wheels on the your jeep? I have been considering to do the same thing!!
