So I took in my 2007 Jeep Wrangler X for a re-gear today. I had thought that I had a 44 in the rear, the shop actually told me I had a 35 in the rear and that Im pretty much screwed unless i swap out for a 44.

I have 35s and would like to know if there is anyway i can change up the gears from stock for now until I can save up the money to do a swap for the front and rear.

I am thinking that rearend was a one year wonder and may not have much aftermarket support for gears and such. I hope for ur sake i am wrong.

 

Your best bet might be to pay attention to the for sale section and find a used 44. You can probably pick up a rubi 44 for about what you planned to pay to build your axle up.

 

Thank God I have a D44. I saw your issue and realized I'd never even checked to make sure I have a D44.. Good to know, but I hope everything goes well with you problem (I guess problem..?) Anyway, good luck!

 

Jeep guys have been wheeling the Dana 35 for years. There is plenty aftermarket support for them....just ask the XJ crowd.
