We're taking a family trip to Mitchell Caverns this weekend, and I've never Jeeped out in that area. Can anyone give me some recommendations on where to go, where to camp? We haul an offroad popup trailer that is capable of most trails.

We like to camp by ourselves in remote places, far from other campers. Thanks for any suggestions.

Caruthers Canyon is in the New York Mountains. That's where we spent our first night on our Mojave Road trek. It's absolutely gorgeous if you're willing to travel that far from the caverns. It's mostly paved/graded roads (looks to be about 30 miles on my map) until you reach the easy trail to the campsite off Cedar Canyon. The trail and the camping area are marked on my Preserve map, so it should be easy to find.
