From: Simi Valley, Ca., Taylorsville, Ut. and places in between
According to one site from Google, the GPS is: 36.811415,-118.196154 (Reward Mine [exact])
Location info:Reward is about five miles East of highway 395 in the Owens Valley inbetween Independence and Lone Pine. The site includes Several large and small mines and mining structures such as building foundations, several large ore bins, air tramway towers and cables, and lots of equipment. The best feature is an enormous mineshift that goes close to a mile underground.
Hope this helps.

Awesome thanks guys, Going to mammoth soon and and trying to find places to sight see along the way with the wife and my Little bro. No lift yet. Roof rack and skids. Probably going to that hot springs near the mammoth airport if i recall.
Well I was just out there this passed weekend. Didn't do reward.
I would check out movie rd outside of lone pine as well.
The hot springs you are talking about are "closed" to entry into the water, if that's what you were planning. That being said if you want to "not" get in the water there is an area just up stream from the main hot springs that is quite nice.

Take something to tie your CB antenna down with before you enter the mine. It will never be the same if you don’t. Keep an eye out for Henry (a manikin) he may be making an appearance there again this summer.
Well we were pressed for time but we did get to check it out real quick and it was fun!
Manzanar reward Rd

Some locals we met

Shot of my the jeep on a hill near by

Some sort of mining equipment up there

We found it! And yes it was on the plateau! Too bad I had some stuff on my roof rack I couldn't drive all the way in

As far as I can go due to my stuff on the rack

Another shot of the mine, wifey was scared to go further lol

On the way back down and on to mammoth

Sorry blurry pic of our rental cabin that the wifed rented for my 30th Bday and waiting on my buddy's to show up
