Exclamation Save The Hammers!

If you enjoy wheeling in the Johnson Valley OHV area and watching the King of Hammers races, then you should know that we are about to lose these opportunities. The USMC is about to submit their plan to the U.S. Congress in which they detail their plan to take over 160,000 acres of the J.V. area. We must act soon to prevent this from happening.

Watch the video below, then visit this website www.savethehammers.org, for information on how you can help, including contacting your congressional representative and urging them to Save the Hammers!

http://youtu.be/-t0fcwGgwpk Post up and let everyone know after you have contacted your representative.

I am glad to see someone (Dave) getting involved on this issue. I have been going to meeting on this for over a year now and I have been speaking with my congressman on this issue. This has not received the attention from the off road community that it deserves. I think people believe it won’t happen because of the scope of the acreage involved. The reason they want this area is to do three day exercises without looping back on itself. This video is from one perspective, but let me tell you there are motorcycle races out there 30 weekends a year and people riding horses and rock hound love this place not to mention that people go there to shoot their own guns. I have spoken with Jeff knoll on a regular basis and a few times with Dave Coles from KOH on this matter. We realize that it is a very real thing. The military does need to train for the way wars are being fought and keep up with the changes in the battle field. So they will get some support from congress. The most common thing to do is to write a letter to your congressman. Let them know your point of view and make it personal by telling them how it will have a negative impact on you (The voter). I always make a copy and send the same letter to a congressman form some were that doesn’t have a clue about what is going on out here. Put a little something in their heads before they hear the deliberation on the floor. It takes a few minute to send it electronically so please do it today.

It is BLM land and the land is federal. So that means no money for California.

Red Dog - thank you for your efforts to keep J.V. open! I forget that this would affect a lot more people than just jeepers. Not to mention that it would have a huge negative financial impact on Lucerne Valley.
