Posted earlier by WOL: Winds could gust as high as 29 mph.
I'm looking for some expert advice on tents in the wind. I haven't used a tent in the wind for about 15 years. I have a 5'x6' tent and a 10' square tent. Both are the "4 pole type". I have plenty of stakes to hold them down.

How will these fare with 29 mph gusts? Am I better off not pitching a tent and just sleeping in the Jeep?
Thanks,
Wayne

If it is windy I am going to pitch it right behind the Jeep to keep the wind off of it. When we wheel, I will just pile everything including the cooler inside to keep it there.
I have tented in 35 mph winds before. Not fun, but doable.
