Is there going to be a Shamrocked event/run this year? I remember not being able to attend last year and was recently reminded St Paddy's day is approaching.
Anyone have any info?

I think you're right. I wonder why after 4 consecutive years they just stopped?

There were 2 I think (well at least on the scale of an "event" any way). Part of the issue was that the weather was usually crappy, and the other issue was that it was difficult to plan and manage with the extremely large amount of Jeeps that showed up. But anyone can plan an event. Build it and they will come

 

Yes the Newbie run used to be separate from Shamrocked and took place in May. It was our first event with the forum in 2009 actually. They combined it that last 2 years with Shamrocked earlier in the year.

To the best of my recollection... Eddie canceled Shamrocked after the 2011 run mostly due to liability issues. After that racing accident in the desert where several spectators were killed the BLM came down hard. He didn't want liability for planning an "Event", and also the fee's were exorbitant.

But Shamrocked 2011 sure was a blast!!!

 

Oh the memories.... Shamrocked was soooo much fun!
