Default So Cal Primitive Camping?

Hi All,
I wanted to get some suggestions on some good primitive camping that I could wheel into and spend a couple of nights at without having to deal with the typical campsites. Anything within a couple 2 or 3 hours of LA would be great and water is always a plus. The more primitive and private the better.
Thanks

ok i think after looking around google maps i found at least one of the places that i remember. we used to hike the pacific crest trail a lot. the blue ridge truck trail runs along side it and there is a campground called Guffy mid way through the trek. you can start up at the top of wrightwood near the MT. High skii resort and work your way down to it or start from lone pine canyon road. not a hardcore off road trek by any means as its all forest service roads, but that's the first one that comes to mind.

go to trails.com i signed up but you dont have to i dont think. you can search anything from camping to off highway drives to hot springs and more... let me know if you have a specific place in mind and i can search it if it won't let you.

My favorite primitive camping is on Santa Rosa Mountain. If you can get the spot at the spring, it's the best. Toro peak (next peak over) has a great view of the Salton Sea and the peak at SRM is worth checking out. Link to pics of a JK run of years past: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/soca...-14590/page11/

Indian Mountain, Black Mountain, Bee Canyon and North Coyote Canyon are all good runs, fairly close to Santa Rosa Mtn.
