I checked out your fab work and welding the other day. It won't break... Maybe we can roll it on John Bull!

Default EVO DTD Continued...

Finally got the front shocks mounted and the Jeep is road-worthy, but we decided that we have jobs and there is no way we are going to get this build done any time soon on our own...going to have to call in some help.

Oil Change, Tire rotation, Re-painted the Rubi-Sliders and Wash/Wax.

Nothin fun, just things I've had on the to-do list.

Bumper & tire carrier couple weeks ago and this week used Goodyear MTR 37's on stock Rubi wheels, speedo reprogrammed with my Superchips programmer. (Note: it's handy to have a Coats 20-20 at home, but it is a lot of work...) Next weekend should be the front driveshaft replacement and she'll be off road worthy again

What do you have left to do? Did you get the EVO lever link rear? Looks good so far

I am curious how much improvement the coilovers will give you.

Vince is still a novice welder, so although he got the EVO front DTD shock mounts welded on pretty good, we wanted to make sure they are really bullet-proof, and after installing them the front end needs to be fine-tuned. JC Fab & Design is only about 15 minutes from us, so we took it down there and Jim Cox strengthened all the welds and welded in areas of the mounts that Vince couldn't reach. Jim's 220v welder is also a lot hotter than ours:

Vince has not really had a chance to test it yet, but on the ride over to the shop, he said it felt great. The real test of the DTD will be when we can get it out to the trail and I'll let you know how it does.

I've been very impressed about the quality of the stuff from EVO - but considering how everyone just raves about their products, I didn't expect anything less. The clearances on the DTD shock mounts are very precise, so you can't be in a hurry trying to put them in. We took our time, and everything fits perfectly.

Yes, Vince also got the EVO double-throwdown rear, and we decided to just leave his Jeep at JCFab and have Jim do it right the first time:
