The smaller the number the further they stick out right? Or am I backwards?

Yes that is correct, 3.5" backspace wheels will stick out farther than 4.5" backspace wheels

3.5" thats the only backspace available.
In order to run evo coil overs, you need at least 3.75" backspace or less

so the tires stick out too far on slabs to do coilovers? Doesn't sound right.. But that could just mean I need to check my ears lol.
