Default Socal clutch party?

So I'm pretty sure my clutch is toast. I can still shift, but I'm revving up higher then normal without the propulsion. Especially up hills.

I've replaced the clutch in 08, it was a pita and it was my first time doing a clutch job. Needless to say, we cracked the plate during, at least that's what the transmission shop told me when I brought it in with problems. Ended up buying two clutches, wasting a day and paying a pro to do it.

I'd like to go the save money and do it right method. I know another member did a recent replacement, just seeing if anyone has a wrench party planned or is willing to host/assist. Since I'm living in a van down by the river, I don't have any of the tools to complete this. Im in no hurry, well unless it dies on me.

Just thought id ask before biting the bullet and paying a pro.

I wish I had the knowledge on this to help! If this goes down, I might have to sit bench side to see how it's done so I could (possibly) do it myself if I ever need to

Hell, I'm in for that, plus I'll tell you not to listen to him cause what he is telling ya that you're doing wrong is wrong.

The job is no problem, maybe contact Rob and we can do it at this house. I just did bills three weeks back. Pretty easy just time consuming

Thanks guys. I've done this before with some friends and it was a huge pita. I'm taking it to the shop tues to see what exactly is the problem and I'll go from there.

Basically, while driving the engine revs up but no power goes to the wheels. On hills it's almost redline. It feels like, when you drive and push the clutch in while giving it gas. It jumps up in rpm then drops and applies torque.

Quote from the shop, $1100 for parts(500 and labor(600) for an OEM clutch.

$350 for an OEM full clutch kid and flywheel from a buddy at a dealership.

$500 for a dual friction clutch only, from northridge.

$150 for a rock auto clutch kit.

So I have options and trying to see what route to take.

If time is on your side I can offer up my workshop and I'm sure some bodies like JK Wrench will offer up some help as well

Talk to Bill and see how much his clutch kit cost.

Let me know @ nordicsoul56@gmail.com and we can setup a time here in Poway.

Stay cool
