Anyone know a good place to watch in San Diego ? I'm thinking one of the turnoffs on sunrise highway in the Mount Laguna area. They say the sun will be 83% gone around 6:30 pm.

Hey Eric!!!

We watched it from my front lawn in Corona... Seven of us passed around the #10 lens from my welding helmet. Made it easy to view. Really cool! I'm 53 years old and that was the first time I actually watched one.

My automatic helmet wouldn't kick in... so I was very confident the welding lens was safe.

Hope to see ya out there soon!

Wayne

There was about 15 people on the turnout on sunrise hwy. a couple of exposed films and a welding lens. I got some pics as the sun set.

Watched it from my house. I also used a welding lens to see it. It was pretty neat and it was my first time ever really taking a look at it as it happened. I give it a big

Yeah, it worked perfect. Pulled it out of the helmet so everyone could use it.

FYI for everyone in the future: You can buy a dark lense at Home Depot in the welding section for about $5-$10 if I remember correctly.
