Default A Tale of Woe

So my roommate, Jen, has been searching for a tubular bumper for her TJ for ages. She finally found a guy selling a nice looking one on Ebay and went and picked it up today. she came home, pulled into the garage, and started working on removing her stock bumper...only to find she needed a star socket...which we didn't have. SO! Off to the Depot for a tool run. Got a set of star sockets for 15 bucks, Husky brand. Also picked up a set of shop lights for 19 bucks, and an extension cord to round things out. Sweet.

We get back home, proceed to attempt to install the new bumper, only to find that it won't...quite...fit. The welded on brackets aren't quite perfectly parallel, instead coming together slightly as they move out from the weld point. End result, they will not fit over the mounting..."tube", for lack of a better word.

We are faced with two choices, now. Send it back, or get a grinder! We both agree...this is a good excuse to buy more tools. So...anyone know of a good brand/model that is relatively inexpensive?

Ryobi is a pretty cheap and durable grinder. It runs about $35-$40.

Thanks! Does it come with the necessary discs for grinding steel?

Yeah, it comes with a 4" grinding disk, wire wheel, and sanding wheel. Good deal if you ask me.
