Default Tires r XPensive!

My Mickey t's are on their last months and I need to replace them. Seems like almost any decent looking/performing tire is super expensive. Anyone know of any good deals or promotions here in the SoCal area? So far the cheapest I've found is 4wheelparts buy 3 get 1 free on the procomp MTs. Anyone know of any other shops or online deals ?

Looking for 35"s for a 17" wheel. Thanx in advance

Compare DiscountTireDirect.com, TreadDepot.com and Costco. These seem to be the best deals. I ended up at Costco because of price, mounting and warranty.

I would go with discount. They are pretty good at making a deal and will match or beat the competitor advertised price.

At least they did in grand junction, CO.

Hey Bryan,

You can't beat the deal from 4 wheel parts. They are only doing this a couple of times a year. If they are doing it now, you better get them on order. That promo is awesome.

He's looking for 35's. Last I checked, Costco won't do anything other than factory spec size. Plus they have a very limited selection of the types of tires most of us here fancy.

Steel 15s are $225 for 4 in the 15x8 flavor, they will ride better and a 12.50 could be aired down in the low teens without bead locks without a worry. And it drops the price of tires by about $80 each.

You are correct, tires have gone up since last time you probably purchased. Most tires in that size are $350/tire online, plus shipping. Still have to get them mounted, balanced, etc. Americas/Discount Tire has a descent warranty, basically tire insurance, for like $20/tire, Certificate for Repair, Refund or Replacement - Discount Tire I believe 4 Wheel Parts offers a similar warranty.

Google search "35x12.5R17" brings up interesting choices; couple of options under $300. From experience/research, Mickey Thompson, Dick Cepec, and Pro Comps are generally more expensive. BFG, Goodyear, and some Toyo's can be $30-40/tire cheaper.

When I bought my tires end of 2009, I went for lightest weight tires and wheels I could afford. Advice given to me: saves weight; easier on hubs, axles, and brakes; better fuel economy; less rotational mass. Something to consider.

I know a guy who can't fit his wheels on his axle, might help.
