Hey everyone in socal... got a quick question.

I know a bunch of you have been playin around up in the mtns above LK Elsinore off Ortega.

I used to go up there a buch (before I got my JK). Its great for when you dont have a bunch of time to go somewhere remote...

We always went home with a bunch of scratches (in full size vehicles). Its narrow.. how would my 4dr do up there? Its still too new for me to get a bunch of scratches on it... I know there isnt anything the rig itself cant handle... but i wanna keep scratches to a minimum while im still paying for this rig.

thanks in advance!

I've been on several of the trails on both sides of the Ortega and haven't really had a problem with scratches on the paint. There's really no spot that narrow out there that I've found yet. Just keep it right side up.

Now rock chips is a different story. My pretty painted Sahara flares are starting to take a beating...but that's going to be my excuse for replacing them!

Thanks for the info. My wife is hesitant becuase of all teh scratches we have gotten there in the past.. but that was in big trucks, so i figure that jeep will do just fine.

Im getting the rock chips too! I have quite a few on the bottom 2 inches of both rear flares. That doesnt bother me so much. But scratches all the way down the sides would kinda be a bummer.

That's not from CNF, though, is it? If it is, you've got to share the story now.

But "technically" the JK is my wifes vehicle since we kept my truck... if i came home with paint like that... she'll prolly not appreciate the "artistic" pinstiping.

But maybe its worth a shot

ok, I was going to say/ask that, but didn't want to go there.

The first time I took my jeep out with a friend I got sh*t when I got home because that's how my doors looked...and jeep was only a couple of days old. Unti I realized that it wiped off. Now when I really do get scratches I just tell him it's dust and hope he doesn't notice that it's still there a few days later.
