My Moms rule was to have them pulled when we turned 18.....I'm 33 now so they've been gone for years but I remember the pain like it was yesterday!

 

When I had mine done I refused to be put under. I wanted to look the dentist in the eye.

They gave me valium to get me in the door, laughing gas to keep me there, and novicane to numb the pain.

I apparently was a one man show and hit on every nurse, patient or fish in the fish tank I could.

Seemed pretty cool until, thanks to all the drugs, I puked 2 hours after I got home.

Nothing like puking with an insanely stiff and aching jaw.

I couldn't do the vicadin, didn't like what it did to me.

 

You're a trooper man. I hate having my teeth worked on. Don't mind the pain so much as the drilling and grinding noise that reverberates through my head. I didn't mind the Vicodin but the steroids they gave me for swelling made me a beast. I literally had roid-rage the whole time I was on them, it was awful.

 

Yeh, I have a love hate relationship with vicodin. Love that it takes most of the pain away... Hate that it makes me so nauseous. And to top it off... I'm at work right now.
