Yet another rock rails question
Know there are a ton of threads out there about rock rails but I haven't really been able to get the answer I am looking for in them.
I am trying to find a good replacement rock rail for my current broken ones which are body armor, they broke my stock body mounts and I tried unsuccessfully to make brackets and weld them to the frame but I am not a good welder and they broke... The rails themselves are dented and rusted as well so I am now looking to find some new ones. I am looking for frame mounted rails that would incorporate side protection/ side step and don't take away from ground clearance. I would rather not spend more than 500$ total on them as well and bolt on is prefer but if weld on is best then I will take it to a shop. Thanks for any advice in advance

EVO sliders are very nice and sturdy. A bit above your budget though as well as mine. If i could afford them they would certainly be on my jeep. I have Or Fab and they seem to work pretty well. They are bolt on but can be welded on i think by an experienced welder. My 2 cents.....
From experience I can tell you that welded-on rock rails are going to hold up much better than bolted-on. If you are going to do really hard-core wheeling than I suggest that you spend the extra money for welded-on rails. The only "over-the-counter" welded-on rails that I know of come from EVO. My son has them, and they are as close to "bullet-proof" as you can get. You can also do custom welded-on rails, but the EVO ones would likely be a lot cheaper.

thanks everyone for the advice! I think I have narrowed it down to either Off Road Evo or LoD, what will probly be the deciding factor is instalation cost since I need to get my old ones cut off. I tried to weld together some brackets at home, and well I'm still learning
I'll post again once I get the stuff done although it may not be a while since school is now starting...

I did the LOD rails. I a little high on the cost but I love them. I bolted them on but could alway get them welded. If done John Bull with them and I'm glad I did. Saved me some body damage. If you need help bolting them on I can help.
