ATL / North Georgia...yip yap thread
This thread that I'm starting is a place for ATL / North Georgia JK'ers, to keep in touch, talk about what's on your mind, yip yap & BS about whatever.
Seems we all keep commenting on past ride threads and there is no place to say what's up on a continuous basis.
Sound good?

whats up. I'm Garrett.
I live in Acworth...which is basicaly Kennesaw. I work every weekend so you can usually count me out of weekend trips although if anyone wants to go wheeling during the week lemme know. I'm looking to do an overnight trip sometime between now and January.

My 1st yip & yap post here:
So last Sunday morning I went out wheeling locally & scratched up my, "3600 mile 2009 unlimted $28,000 dollar jeep"..... like it was an old junk $2800 1989 Wrangler.

I took it through some really over grown trails. Pushing through bushes & trees.
Running over bushes & trees.!!!
It was horrible.

No wait.
Well....it was fun.
I was out all morning hitting all these little places around my neck of the woods.
Not only was it a scratch my clear coat & side soft top windows really bad type of day, but mud was also everywhere and I played in it!!!
3 hours of fun turns into 6 hours of cleaning.
Yea...between the pressure washing 200 pounds of mud off, then compounding & polishing out the scratches with a buffing wheel on all four doors, it's gonna be awhile before I have that kind of disreguard wheeling a expensive jeep like it was a beater mobile.
One fun part of the morning to comment about was this long steep grass hill, I was playing with in 2 wheel drive. My Trak Loc rear end seems to work well.
The first two tries, I almost made it to the peek but spun. The 3rd attempt, I picked up my momentum and also floored it. A Jeep is totally more fun burning out in wet grass mud then a muscle car.

Good idea Joe, and Garret...not sure how far you are willing to drive but Coal Creek/Windrock park in Oliver Springs, TN, is an AWESOME place. I only did one night of camping due to working schedule, but alot of other people made a 4 day trip out of it.
I finished my last day of college on Monday and only work 3/4 days a week. I'm available during the week and constantly looking to get out of the house. Just let me know when and where and I'll be there with the Jeep.

Great thread idea! We need to coordinate a ride again, its been about a month or so since some of us hit Nimblewill Gap again on a cold, rainy Sunday.
As for scratches...My Jeep wears 'em like a badge of honor! Seriously though, I need to do some buffing and I should have gone with my first instinct of a white one instead of black.
I've got some time off scheduled around Christmas. Need to do some work on the Jeep. I bought Rubi Unlimited shocks and springs from Davegus, who you may remember from the first ride, that I still haven't installed, plus need to do some of the less "fun" stuff like change all the fluids and brakes.

Isn't it about time for the 2nd Annual Mid-Jan JK Jam at Durhamtown?
Where is Corey?
Jan 15th through the 17th looks good. MLK Day is probably on the 18th so some of us will have an extra day to recover and clean off the mud.
