Well, I just saw the list of openings for the assignment cycle that I'm most likely gonna get an assignment from. Looks like an opening at Keesler AFB so I'm wondering if you guys can help me out and show me what kind of wheelin' I can expect if I do get this assignment.

Guess I won't have to worry about it, I just got word I'm going to McGuire AFB, NJ.

Was kinda hopin' to go out west somewhere, but, oh well... we'll see.

 

the wonderful world of the military assignment system....always put in for where you don't want to go, then they'll send you somewhere decent for a change. Sorry to hear it but Jersey ain't too bad,

 

I've done really well so far.

First assignment was to Hickam AFB, HI. It was 2nd on my overseas list at the time, behind Elmendorf, AK.

Second assignment was to Rhein-Main, Germany (out of cycle) and IIRC it was about 3rd or 4th on my list.

Third assignment was to Incirlik AB, Turkey. It was last on my list, but like 9/13 slots for my grade/AFSC were to there so I was pretty sure I was gettin' hit with it anyway.

Fourth assignment is here at Andersen AFB, Guam. It was first on my list. Really was hoping for Kadena AB when I came here, but it wasn't even on the list.

So, this'll be a new experience for me. I've never been stationed CONUS. Haven't lived CONUS since I was a civilian and single.
