I'm getting pretty pumped for this ride. Question for anyone who will be going. I'm trying to build a nice little addition to the Jeep and need a stock part. I need the upper dash panel that you replaced if you have the Daystar upper dash panel organizer. I'll pay you a little for it, but nothing crazy because I'm just gonna tear it up with a saw. PM and let me know....

Back to the ride, is there a gas station close by to fill up or should I do that further out?

There is not much of anything close by - make sure you have whatever gas, food, drinks, etc. you need/want prior to reaching the park. I think the closest place is 20-25 minutes away, but I'd suggest no one try to wait till the last moment. If you're going through Gadsden, load up there. If you're coming from the NE above Gadsden, then look for a nice convenience store/gas station while you're still on a four lane. Once you hit those two lane back roads, I think you may have missed your chance.

I was hoping that my new front bumper was going to come in on time so i could put it on with my new winch. Doesn't look like that is going to happen now. I still have an arb diff cover coming in on Thursday so maybe I will have time to throw that on before Saturday. See everyone Saturday morning.

Ok!

I might be going. Looking forward to it!

Well, I just moved from a definitely to a maybe... I was driving home from school today (@ about 55-60 mph), hit a pothole, and the Jeep started making a loud, horrible grinding noise. I thought to myself "Oh crap, U-Joint..." but quickly reasoned "There's no way you break a U Joint on the highway..."
I quickly pulled off the road to discover...

Anyway, I spent a few hours out on 441 until dear old dad could come pick us up on the trailer (didn't have my sockets to just pull the shaft...)
The local dealer is replacing the shaft under the lifetime warranty, and assuming they have it done Friday and there was no damage to the R&P, I'm still planning on making the drive.
I'll try to keep ya'll posted.

It's just funny to me that I beat on this axle against rocks, in the mud, etc. etc. and broke a joint on asphalt... I guess it's the Jeep's way of saying it belongs off road? haha.
