Just last summer they were charging 12-1300 for gears and install, shoulda got mine done then. The guy you went to in Harahan is cheaper , but Prarieville is closer to where I live and I've delt with these guys before.

dont get me wrong, i have alot of confidence in searchers. i spoke to them several times on the phone. i actually drove all the way over there from bayou gauche to go talk to them in person about doing my gears. great guys by the way. i was going to get em to do the gears too, bucause i didnt know any other alternative. when i found out about a reputable shop way closer and less expensive i decided to go with steves 4wd. i did however call and speak to him at least 4 times to feel him out. he was also recommended by a guy who used to be part owner of 4x4 specialties in metairie (who now works with my brother in houston). having said that, if searchers were closer to me, i would have probably gotten them to my gears.

oh, i forgot to mention, what ever they charge you to weld up the gussets is not enough. i just got done welding mine up and it is a royal pain in the ass.

No probs Corey, glad you were able to get a good install. I was seriously contemplating about steve's, which I've heard good things about. Again searchers best fit me for distace and the time frame I'll be able to get my jk back ( wife running me there and getting back to get my daughter from school) only 45min from me and I couldn't see fighting NO traffic and being able to pick it up when needed. Also , I've delt with them before and they've earned my respect and business. Are you gonna be doing any wheeling with Northshore 4x4?
