Durhamtown Plantation and Gulches are about your only options. You could also try the boat ramp behind the airport, but be careful those mudholes get VERY DEEP!!

Hey dude,

Try going to Fort Gordon. As a civilian, which I'm only guessing you are, you can sign onto Fort Gordon, go to the game-warden station, ask for a map of all tank trails (free) and ask which areas are currently off limits, due to weapons firing or hunting. You're not going to find any major rock climbs, but there will definitely be plenty of mud, sand, and off camber trails. I'm retired military and do the same at Fort Jackson, SC, and have taken a few friends, who wheel on their own out there now. Caution: Take a buddy with a winch or pay a hefty tow charge from a tow company that has to come to get you from a military installation. Don't ask how I know. Anyway, check it out and let me know if it works out. Oh yeah, have vehicle registration, insurance and drivers license available at the gate.

Good luck...
