Default Kickin tires

I will be test driving a few new and used JKUs tomorrow. I hope to buy one in the next few months. Has anybody traded in an 07-11 for a 12 or 13? Any thoughts on the new motor/transmission? I want a 4X4 automatic, but not sure what trim yet. Can't see paying an extra 10K for a Rubi. I might consider a Chevy LS3 motor swap on an older one, if I can find one cheap enough.

The new motor paired with the new 5spd auto is unbelievably better. I've owned both now. I had my '09 lifted 4.5" 37's and geared to 5:13. I now have a '12 with 3.5" AEV lift and 35's with the stock 4:10 rubi gearing. The '09 couldn't hold speed up hills in my area...the '12 passes cars.

Agreed. The penastar motor kiss the 3.8 in the butt. I've had both. My 07 had 33" tires and I got 16mpg my 2012 has a lift 35" tires and I get 17mpg. Not to mention torque and hp.no competition hands down 2012

Thanks for the input. Been wanting a Wrangler for a long time. Finally decided to "make that move across the Rubicon" and give up my WS6 Trans Am to get one.

I had an 07 2 door jk with 4.10 gearing. As far as power, torque, and just the feeling of having a jeep with more power, the 07 couldn't hold a candle to my 2012 JKUSport.

Drove a '10 Sahara and then a '12 Sport. Both Unlimited 4X4 automatics. What a difference! Can't wait to pick one up.

That's awesome. Did you sign-up for the event tonight in Boca. Brezzie's in Boca Raton at 3:30. I think the number is something like 8 people and 4 jeeps. I hope we see you there
