I was in Ellijay, GA for a weekend trip and took my wife up to the Falls and the dirt/muddy/gravel road to the church.
We didn't go too much further as it was very muddy and alone (no winch).

I remember back in Dec of 2002 when I had my Grand Cherokee we road up there. Fun times!!!
Cru9 is right, its been completed graded and all mud holes have been smoothed out and filled in. It is now Smart Car capable. The road you went up gets A LOT better once you pass the church and head towards Anderson Creek ORV trail system that's been closed down. According to come local boys, there's a way to get onto the property but I don't recommend or agree on illegal riding so I've stayed away from there as I wish to not feed into temptations. It would be nice if they opened up Anderson again... I miss that place..

I was curious myself. Thanks for the info! Does anyone know if there are any good trails/roads in or around that area? I’m looking for somewhere to ride around in my new JK. Nothing too crazy until the new wears off. Maybe some FS roads with some creek crossing.

if you want forest roads and creek crossings, head up to Cashes Valley near Blue Ridge. I'm from BR and it's a pretty fun ride out through there, shouldn't hurt the "newness" of the Jeep. You could also try the Cohuttas and Jacks River. There are a lot of good roads there, and you could start on the Blue Ridge side out Hwy 2 and come out on Hwy 52(I think) in Ellijay, but no creeks on that one though.

From Ami Park, you're so close to some of the nicest FS trails. You could head over past Dahlonega and go to Dicks Creek, you can head to Blue Ridge next to Unicoi Lake and there's a few trails through there. I haven't dropped any directions but if you're interested i'll be more than happy to do so. BR is some amazing riding, just gotta poke around and look for the signs Also think about looking up a club. There is tons of them out there, none are created equal but its always better to ride with a group of people who know where to go, how safe it is and just having the ability to get out of all situations helps out a ton. I'm a member of Sevenslat4x4 and I'm sure the guys would be more than happy to show you around one day. We do rides every 2 weeks rain or shine unless it affects safety and trail stability.

I thought I saw 07JKX on 113 in Cartersville, but it was a different lifted green JK with a snorkel. This actually had his doors off too. At the same intersection there was a silver JK truck conversion, at the body shop near McDonalds.

Saw the hottest blonde girl driving the sickest lifted black jk ever near cumming. Either she's one of the coolest chicks ever, or her Mercedes is in the shop and her husband got to use his Ferrari today....

Today, around 12:15 i saw a Yellow Unlimited JK passing under buford 20, heading towards friendship road and oakwood areas. Had black slider rails, which is really the only thing i saw haha. I've seen this JK at 4 wheel parts in norcross awhile back.

Black unlimited at the Mall of GA near taco mac, around 1:50-2:00 today. Looked like 35s, unsure of the lift.

Also a red JK at the mall too. Silver rims, couldn't see if it was a 2 or 4 door

Post up your sightings as well!!
I've seen several bad ass JKU's in the area (Roswell, Alpharetta, Cumming). Mine is a lonely stock Dozer 2012 JKU. Would love to find places local to put it through its paces.......

Keep an eye out for me. I'm on the roads all the way from Suwanee (where I live) to Norcross (work) to Kennesaw (girlfriends) to Rome (family).
