Have you heard of Gulches? It's in SC but I heard it's pretty nice.

Since you are in Charlotte, you are one hour away from some of the coolest trails on the East Coast, Uwharrie (Also called URE)! From stock to wildly modified, there are trails you can run, camping, mudholes, rockwalls etc.

In fact, there is a run this Saturday. There is also a Meet & Greet at Keffer Jeep Saturday with a possible URE trip to follow on Sunday.

Do a search on the forum for Uwharrie or URE and you will get lots of hits.

yeah I have been exploring a few times but its not the thrill I hoped it would be...Construction sites get boring real quick ha.
But do both of these places have places for beginners? I haven't done much to the wrangler yet and don't want to get stuck my first time out.

check out this thread https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...t=82874&page=7

its the group of forum guys going to Uwharrie this weekend, its a great place and you'll be fine in stock jeep, just need recovery points front and rear just in case.

NC on the forum is grouped in the East Coast staging area of the forum, lots of people from NC on here, including myself

I went to URE for the first time in my stock X, didn't air down and didn't disconnect my sway bars (I didn't know any better). I did all of the intermediate (medium difficulty) trails and never got stuck. I did bottom out twice but it was just a quick bump and never even slowed me down.

There are a couple of places that are too much for a stock X on those trails, but those hard spots all have a bypass that you can use to skip that bit and continue on your way.

Believe me... it is a LOT of fun, even in a stock JK!
