Default Place to buy metal in Atlanta???

Does anyone know of a good place to buy steel pieces in Atlanta? I'm trying to make a rear-view camera holder that will mount behind the tire on my tire carrier. Basicaly, I just need a 3" x 8" piece of steel that will be sturdy enough to not shake like crazy. I've looked at Ace, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. but haven't been able to find anything.

Thanks!

just pull it out of someone air conditioner or car in the middle of the night... seems to be the popular trend now a days.

Alternatively, go down to pull a part and by a hood or door panel for a few bucks... cut it the way you want it.

You should be able to look in the Yellow Pages for a steel supplier. Most supply shops will sell you their drop offs that are left over from cutting customer orders.

I could sell you a bit from my work probably if you were closer. It wouldn't be worth the cost in gas for it.

There used to be a little place in Doraville off I85 (seems like Pleasantdale Road maybe) called Metals Supermarket. Not sure if they are still there.

I like the pull-a-part idea.I hadn't thought of that one.
