Default Tellico Run

GA Trail Riders are making a Tellico run this weekend. Some are going up Friday to camp and do a small night ride and the rest are headed up Saturday morning. This is not an official club ride, just some guys getting together to ride Tellico before the closure starts and the next chance is after March 31st to ride and then some of the trails will still be closed.

We plan to meet at the intersection of Trail 1 and 5 between 8 A.m. and 8:30 A.m. and depart sharply at 8:30 for SlickRock. From there we will go to Helicopter and Guard Rail and come down Pinch Rock. That should take a whole day, there are going to be ALOT of people there this weekend and it ought to be a great time.

Rigs are mainly Wranglers, TJ's mostly at that. Some are locked on 35's, sliders, winchs, you name it. Some are open diffs on 33's with minimal protection. I think I will be the only JK this time and my mods are in the sig.

Let me know if you want to join us! Its the last time to ride this great place till the spring and then several of the trails will have closures for repair in various areas.

When did you mess up your driveshaft? Was it up at Beasley?

I did it on christmas eve. I was on some local trails and ended up letting the drivers side wheel down too far, i hit the gas and shredded the boot on my driveshaft on the transmission cross member. I don't know how long it will last with no grease or oil to lubricate the joint.

I ran mine without the boot for about a month until I got it fixed. Just avoid deep mud or water. There's not that much grease in the slip joint anyway. Have fun. I wish I could go this weekend but I have to work.

Tellico was a sloppy mess today! The rain from the past week had soaked the park. We got there around 8:30 A.m. and went down to the intersection of trail 1 and 5 to meet everyone the headed up trail 5, to trail 4 and the onto the bottom of SlickRock. There was no way to make it up SlickRock today without a winch. We all ended up pulling a cable atleast twice. Good day overall, lots of rigs there. Cant wait to go back with the place opens back up. There isnt much of pictures, this was a very hands on ride moving the snatch blocks, tree savers, and pulling cables

i saw 3 other JK's riding by on trail 1 on there way out Saturday. 2 black four doors and 1 black 2 door rubicon. They were so CLEAN looking...

I wish we had some pictures. There were definitly a lot of people who were doubtfull of the JK going on Slickrock. Some people said "its great to see someone taking these things off road and not just in mall parkinglots" and others said "dont know why he has one of them new Jeeps here". All i know is i made it up Slickrock a lot faster than a lot of the built rigs there
