metallic popping when i turn and flex (i.e. turning into parking spots or backing out of the driveway.

it only pops once... so i do not think its my ujoint. for example.. if i lock the wheel far left or right, i can drive in tight circles with no noise. it will pop when i first turn it, but thats it.

it drive me insane and I cant figure it out. I just dont what some kind of epic failure out in alabama. I am not made of money and A - could not afford to tow it home from there... especailly after all the financial bull shit i went through this month. I would have to torch it and report it stolen

Just a thought and you might have checked already, I had the same symptoms on my f350 ended up the the track bar bushings was worn slightly and would pop only the once when I turned. I tightened the bolt extremely tight and solved the problem for a while. Ended up having to replace my $12.00 bushings.

I would also check the steering linkage and unit, I have heard of some streering unit becoming loose and causing a popping noise.

Just a couple of cheap thoughts. If something happens in al, I have a trailer we will get you home! Let me know if any of this helps.

Mine did not appear to be loose, I just found it by loosening the bolts one by one to see what noise duplicated what I was hearing. Good luck

I was hoping to sell my jet ski and get some rock rails (along with a crap ton other goodies) before this ride, but I don't see that happening. I've kept my steps on for every other ride, but I'm thinking I should take them off for this one. Seems like it's gonna get rough?......whatcha guys think? Am I being paranoid and leave them on or take them off amd risk damaging the body panels?

First we need to know if your really worried about getting them damaged. If so I would take them off. If you do take them off then you may push it farther and damage the body on an obstacle. If the steps are there and take a hit then your body will be saved and you can trash them after you get your rails.

If you plan to sell them after you get rock rails then take them off and we can stack rocks for you and do our best to prevent a hit on the body , just kidding.

If your not worried about them then lets launch it off a ledge and tear them off.

Your wors are so encouraging........But seriously, I don't want to damage either...I will eventually sell these steps to pay for something, so no launching needed. I wouldn't risk breaking the steps or damaging the body anyway but (as stated previously) there isn't any place to go around obstacles....

......SCREW IT, whatever I'll figure something out. Getting pretty stoked though. I've been getting bored lately.

BTW, Who is bringing the Jager?
