Default trailer registration

Anyone ever buy a trailer of any kind and register it without having a previuos registration? I bought a boat today and i got a title for the boat but didnt realize the trailer had no VIN or previous registration. Anyone have any experience on how to go about handling this situation? Any advice would be great.
I have seen where you can apply for a "homemade" registration. But all of those people said they had to have a certified weight for the trailor. How the heck am i going to weigh it with a boat on it? And I am not legally allowed to drive it to the weigh station anyway. Again, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Call the DMV...
I know it feels like this , or you can go to a title place that is not government run...

to get a weight on a home made trailer, you can take it to a truck stop and weigh it on the scale. The last time I built a trailer at home and got a title, they just saked how much it weighed...

Call a local boat shop and tell them your boat size and ask them what type of trailers they have and their weights and just tell the DMV what it weighs when they ask... might work
