Trip to FLA - Guide/Tour Advice
Hey, I'm hoping someone can give me a hand. I'm headed to FLA in a few weeks to Orlando and want to do a wildlife tour. I'm hoping to find a private tour/guide to do some wildlife photography. I've found a few places online but that never compares to asking the locals. I'm mainly interested in bird photography and prefer to do a water tour, such as a kayak or airboat tour. Suggestions?
If you dont mind a little drive, the Merrit Island National Wildlife Refuge in Cape Canaveral is a wonderful place for birds, gators, manatees and more. Never very busy, several observation decks and lots of walking trails to and from channels.
I would recommend Florida Forever which is a little southeast of orlando on Hwy 441. There is also quite a few good airboat tours but the one on Lake Cypress on canoe creek road just below St. cloud is very good. You would see lots of birds and wildlife on the tour. I am a rancher and a airboater here in south florida. Good luck!
