I know this is coming way after you posted this thread and it wasnt me you saw on moon road, but in a few days Ill be back in Columbus/Phenix City Area from Iraq and I have a white 2dr that will have project JK stickers on it. Wondering if there are any good clubs in the area to go wheel with? My jeep is currently a virgin, but with the cash Ive saved here Im doing a few things to it, lift/tires/wheels/CAI/Superchips and am looking for some people to go wheel with!

Just give me a PM when your ready to install your lift, I've already installed 4 suspension lifts on JK's. Needless to say I've become pretty good at it I guess. Haven't had any complaints yet.
I'm not in a club but there is a few of us that go wheeling about 1 a month. Were heading out friday to go camping/wheeling in Olive Springs, Tennessee at Coal Creek OHV park.
So just let me know. It will be nice to have some local jeepers to hang with every now and then.
I work in Columbus live in Hamilton, which is 20 mins north of Columbus. Will be moving to Columbus or Smith Station if our house will sale.

Just let us know what you want to install. I installed a complete tera 3 inch, jeepoholic installed a 4 inch, and I have also done a tera bb. So between the three of us, we could get you jeep lifted in no time.

Sounds awesome guys! Jeepaholic, PM returned. I live in PC, work at Ft Benning. Hmm well I was going to have the lift installed by Jimmy at Columbus Custom Exhaust, and I dont mind paying him what he wants to do it, but saving money is always a plus and helps me put it towards other mods. I also believe that a real Jeep guy wrenchs on his own shit. I just do not have any real mechanical experience, but am really wanting to learn as I go! I cant say exactly when Ill be back but I will be looking to do the installation the sometime during the week/weekend after the Auburn/Clemson game if that gives anyone any clues...
Also was looking at the Rusty's 3.25" Kit as that seems like a pretty complete lift for 550, also on the short list is the 3" kit from TF.
Glad I found this site and am really looking forward to wheeling with everyone when I get back.

I, and i bet most agree, it is very beneficial if you do the lift yourself or with help. As for what lift to buy, its deffinitely up to you and what you want to do with your rig. One thing I recommend is dont cheap out. Lots of folks looks to gain that couple inches cheaply but are chasing problems with caster that cant be adjusted and all the other problems that go into a lift with no ability to adjust. I chose the 3 inch teraflex with 8 adjustable control arms because I wanted the ability to adjust my caster, pinion angle, etc. It has deffinitely made my life very easy. Now, this lift is not cheap, but piece of mind is priceless. Deffinitely read all you can and ask questions!

Ive been reading up on different kits, parts, and tech forums for almost a year now, I have been pretty bored this deployment... Im wondering how you like the GY MT/R with Kevlars. They seem to be a pretty solid choice for the area we live in. Once again so glad I found this site!

NO DOUBT ON THE LIFT. I went cheap on the first one I had and wished I wouldn't have. So I had to buy another. I really can't say GY Kevlars are good are bade seeing that I have yet to see them in action. They have good reviews is all I really know.

If I could do it over again I would go with toyo or bfg km2. Tires will not stay balanced no matter what. Ive read that a lot of people have had similar problems.
