Easter Jeep Safari 2013 - Moab, UT // 3-Day Video Series plus Bonus Footage

As we bid farewell to the 2013 Easter Jeep Safari - we think back to all the fantastic trails we conquered and memories we made. It was one of our best trips to Moab, Utah and certainly had the most enjoyable weather we've experienced outside of California.
We brought our gang of usual suspects - including Mike (Rebel Air Pilot), George (Driver - Holy Moly Racing), Thomas (Rebel's Official Canadian), Junior (REBELCON ONE driver), and Nicole Johnson driving her ReadyLIFT Hemi powered Jeep Wrangler JK REBELCON edition.

Day 1 // Golden Spike:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MN2QWCv1mXE If you are going to take your Jeep out of the garage once this year, Easter Jeep Safari better be your destination! The Safari is a bit earlier and colder this year - making for more jacket than sunscreen outdoor fun. We hit the road from Orange County, CA for a 15 hour drive through some of the prettiest country we see all year. Upon arriving in Moab we picked up the keys to our rental homes (dubbed the Rebel Forward Outposts) and met with our great friends Chris and Dennis from Knuckles Offroad, LLC. Early Monday morning we circled the Jeeps, loaded the ice chests, and hit the road for Golden Spike. What an amazing ride! The rocks are every bit as grippy as we remember and just as challenging. The majority of our group was running our RECON coilover conversion and only 4 rigs did not have 40" tires. We finished the trail as the sun began to set and the temps started to drop. Special thanks to Mrs. Knuckles Off Road for the home cooked meal.
Day 2 // Mashed Potatoes:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIxa5lI09Zo Day 2 was absolutely stellar. We joined up with our friends Dennis and Joe from Teraflex Suspensions to run a milder trail just outside Moab city limits. Mashed Potatoes (named after unique rock structures on a flat mesa) starts off as a simple fire road but quickly turns into a challenging rock garden.
We were getting a little anxious after an hour on a smooth road when we dropped into a sandy wash - first thing that came to mind was a sand drag race! We lined up Dennis in his HEMI powered JK, Bond in his Magnuson powered Unlimited, and George in his RIPP supercharged 4-door. The winner? A random CJ with a big block!
After our impromptu race we found Gravy Bowl and Tater Tots - then hit the pavement for a ride back. Currie Enterprises held their annual car wash - and Dave from Currie was nice enough to personally wash Bond's Rebel Command Vehicle!
Day 3 // Poison Spider:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BnO4XulMqY Day 3, usually our last day of wheeling, (always a somber feeling) took us to Poison Spider Mesa with many of our forum friends. ReadyLIFT Off Road with champion rock racer Nicole Johnson joined us through this tour of Moab's back country. Poison Spider is known as one of the most scenic trails in Moab - taking you through sandy washes, incredible elevation climbs, and breathtaking archways.
With the majority of the Rebel vehicles on 40" tires and Currie Dana 60 and 70 axles we were able to take some of the harder lines adding an element of fun and danger.
We spent most of the day pushing our vehicles to test new products including the new Currie RockJock Dana 70 we were given for prototyping and R&D. It's a fantastic axle housing that is sure to keep up with our desire for tougher and tougher trails.
Special thanks to Currie Enterprises for making Rebel their official R&D team to test the all new production RockJock Dana 70 rear housing.
