If those things only pull 12 watts (1 amp) why bother with the relay and why use a 20 amp fuse?

 

I used an Eagle Eye Light Kit. $11 and came with what you need. No relay.

It comes with a 20amp. Cut it in the middle, one end to the + battery, one end to the switch. LED bar goes black to ground, red to switch. And then one ground from the switch and you're done. Was so easy and I'm a complete amateur when it comes to this stuff. Once I figured you had to cut the fuse in the middle (I wasn't 100% initially and had to ask around) it was cake and you don't need the key in the ignition to turn it on since you're directly hooked up to the battery.

 

Just a safety precaution. You definitely don't need a 20 amp fuse, but they're fairly common so we just recommend it.
