$2500 to replace ball joints?!?!?!
No different then the dealers trying to get $200 plus for servicing our axles. It is all a money game. If you are going to be a DIY mechanic, invest is some tools , Napa has a great selection. Nothing beats DIY,, Learning , Re-warding, and you save money, can not get better than that. At least the parts for our jeeps are not as expensive as some other brands, like another member recently said, you pay more for the labor than the part itself at times.

Well, I called around to several shops in my town to replace my ball joints and to my surprise the lowest quote was my dealer @ $550 without alignment since I have somewhere else that does it for me. One shop said it would be $2500
$1500 for the ball joints and $1000 for the labor. So I was wondering what everyone has paid out there.
$1500 for the ball joints and $1000 for the labor. So I was wondering what everyone has paid out there.Just to give you an idea.....this is what I was quoted from my parts guy. These are OEM parts from a Chrysler dealer in Canadian $$$$
"Front ball joint kits (include 1 upper and 1 lower)
68004085AA List is 148.00 per side, your cost is 113.05 per side."
If you are going to spend the kind of money you were quoted.....I would just upgrade to the Dynatrac ones....but if you want to save your money then just go with the OEM ones.
