Default ~VIDEO~ Is this normal?

This being my first Jeep, I'm not 100% sure on the parts names so please correct me so I know for the next time.
As you'll see in the video, when I move the drag link the ball joints are knocking somewhere against the hub assembly, is this normal behavior or is something wrong here?

Yes, they're stock covers but the knocking sound seems to be coming from the ball joints hitting somewhere. Lately when I hit bumpy roads I keep hearing this metal on metal knocking but today after doing an oil change I decided to investigate and I found this.

That is normal bud the drag link swivels too..

I'm willing to bet the metal on metal sound you hear is the doors.

Just simply wrap about 6 wraps of electrical tape around the door jam where the door latch makes contact with the loop on the tub.

No, the drag link doesn't move. My bad, I mixed up the drag link and the tie rod name. Only the tie rod swivels up and down causing the knocking sound somewhere. I'll head back out and investigate a little more.

I just went out to the barn to try this on mine.
Both the drag link and tie rod do the same thing. The movement and sound on them is exactly like you show in the video.
The noise is the joints reaching the end of their (swivel) travel. Completely normal.
I believe you will find they are not hitting on anything.
If you are hearing this while driving, it must be from a different source.

That is normal, however I still attest the factory tie rod is garbage, I got and HD one with HD tie rod ends and I can no longer rock it by hand like that.

Thanks for the help everyone. It's good to know that this is normal play in the tie rod.

the clunk you hear when driving could be the dreaded steering clunk

I have the steering clunk but that's not what I'm hearing. It's more of a metal on metal sound. Kind of like tapping two sledge hammers together lightly.
