07 abs, bas,esp warning lights on. any ideas to diagnose tge problem
My ABS, ESP, BAS warning lights have come on. I have no Anti-Lock brake function. Has any body had this problem. Sometimes the lights go out and everthing is fine. But usually after a few minutes the lights are back on and the systems don't function. Two other issues that may or may not be related to the above. My rear pads are worn down in need to be replaced. (that would be the second set in 55000 miles.) Also my red brake warning light come on occaisionally but goes out in a few seconds.
I'm very low on money have been unemployed. Does anybody know how or what to look for to dianose te problem, I'd hate to go to the Stealer uh I mean Dealer.
If this is some simple wire or sensor problem
My Jeep had been into a lot of ice, snow and road salt lately.
sounds like you may have a damaged ABS/ESP sensor or cable. I recently had this and just changed out the entire unit bearing with an aftermarket unit that came with a new cable. do you have access to an OBD II reader? If so plug it in and get the codes.
You said you repalaced the "entire unit bearing". Is this a wheel bearing or somthing different?
Brake Diagnostic codes require a different reader than the OBD-II. I just had a similar problem on my old 98 Dodge "farm truck" and the ABS controller had gone out. The controller itself was almost $600 but the local tire shop only charged my $65 for the install. Local Dodge dealer wanted somethign like $120 just to pull it in the shop.
i had the exact same prob after a day of wheelin on some slick muddy trails. i like ridin in 2 wheel drive prob is you can't fully disable all the computer esp and traction control bs which is part of the prob if you are spinning and sliding the computer thinks you are about to wreck so it tries to correct by applying rear brake (eats up the pads and the jeep won't go worth a damn in 2 wheel drive)on an 07 the solution is esp kill switch (there is a very detailed write up on this site works great ) when your brake pads get thin the fluid in the reservior gets low and trips the brake light sometimes mine did the same thing. also if your steering wheel is not perfectly level it can cause the abs esp and traction control lights once again computer thinks u r wrecking( also there"s a thread on this site with directions) i had to have my computer cleared of all fault codes to turn lights off but i think after several miles of drivin it resets (60 miles or so) hope this helps

I have the exact same problem. I used my Superchips & it read the code...I forget the exact one, but on my Jeep it was my left rear wheel speed sensor.
Funny thing is I actually like the the way my Jeep is with all of the elec. stuff disabled. It drives much more like I am used to. I especially like being able to get a little slide going around snowy corners & not having the trac control shut you down when accelerating a bit too hard on slippery conditons. Depends on what you are used to I guess.
Im still under warranty so I guess I will take it in to get it fixed eventually....
