Default 09 Rubicon locked in 4wd high-Linkage limp?

We just moved transfer case from "Neutral" to 2wd High. Somehow the transfer case is locked in 4wd high. We can move the transfer case shifter into any position and it stays in 4wd high. Linkage seems like something has broke because shifter seems limp and moves around too easily. Just wondering if someone can tell me what happen and a fix. I hate to drive tomorrow from Dallas to Little Rock in 4wd. Any help will be appreciated.

Get a zip tie and get under there. On the left side of the t case youll see the broken plastic linkage. Just zip tie it back in place and shift it back to 2WD. Common problem.

There is another plastic piece under the center console that attaches the lever to the linkage. Check at the transfer case first though.

same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. checked the transfer case sid of the shifter cable and it was good. then I checked the shifter side and found that the factory little plastic bushing had broke into pieces allowing the cable to slip off. once you find out which end it is broken on just rig it on there to get it out of 4. then either buy a new bushing from dealer for I think 40 cents or come up with a longer lasting way to secure it. The shifter end I found I pretty much had to remove the center console to get to. but just to check it you should be able to remove the 4 mount bolts on the console and just jimmy it up a bit to see if the cable popped off.

Crawl under and shift it to 2-hi by hand if needed but don't drive it from Dallas to Little Rock in 4wd. Remove the t-case skid for easy access.
