Default 12,000 mile service???

Hi all,

I have been surfing around looking at threads on service costs.

I understand the 32,000 is the big one, but I have seen the 21,000 at $300 plus, but why is my stealership quoting $412.00 for my 12,000??

He mentioned something or rather about a front and rear fluid check of some sort.

So is this shameful behavior, or is there something to this?
Thanks,
Botsjeep

The dealer is probably recommending you change the differential fluid. Should be priced around 180 per axle. It’s listed in the manual under the Service area.

Even under severe conditions you can do all this yourself except balance the tires. Even $150 is too much.

12,000 miles or 12 months Maintenance Service Schedule
- Change engine oil and engine oil filter
- Rotate tires
- Check the coolant level, hoses and clamps
- Inspect exhaust system
- Inspect brake hoses and brake linings
- Clean & lubricate soft top zippers (if equipped)

Not sure but I bet the dealer charges at least $20 for Parts and Labor plus a $5 environmental disposal fee to throw away the lubricated rag

Mopar sells a lubricant for the zippers. It was like $8....comes with a brush and applicator. I put it on about every 3 months and my zipper is as smooth as butter. There are probably other things that work as well but for $8...I'll use it
