Stock JK TechBulletin board forum regarding issues with OE (original equipment) components of the Jeep JK Wrangler (Rubicon, Sahara, Unlimited and X) such as factory suspension parts, engine, transmission, body parts, interior fixtures and the on-board computer.
I'd say dealership for the missing piece. The 07 - 11 battery lugs won't work on the newer JKs. Take your lugs off and look at both sides of them. It's a weird layered assembly that you would have to cut apart to use the 07 - 11 lugs. That's why the newer Qtech lugs just add addition spots for more accesories. It is very important that you do not place a wire under the lug tightening screw. ( closest to the battery terminal ) The bottom of the nut is cone shaped to seat into the lug properly.
I used a hose clamp on my 2016 JKU I removed the terminal, slid the hose clamp on, used a 10 mm end wrench to tighten the nut on the terminal post, then tightened the hose clamp.
Used a hose clamp on both terminals and they seem to do the job perfectly. If I decide to get new terminals, like the one from quadratec, can I avoid cutting any cables to install by using the factory lugs?
